Thread: I am worried about the game lasting.

I am worried about the game lasting.

As swtor has proven story based mmo's really don't seem to last due to content running out then a very slow trickle of new things to do. I am kinda worried about this in tsw because I have to be honest, the way the game flows feel's a hell of alot like swtor did, and thats not a good thing. My friend has been playing since early access and well.. He's pretty much run out of content, so now he's twiddling his thumbs trying to find something to do. This is a problem with all these wow-clone/themepark mmo's They just don't seem to last very long.

The game also has some other issues, like pvp being fairly bad, no real purpose to pvp at all, for thegame having 3 factions its really stupid it lacks a system like daoc where you can take over land and such (fusang doesn't count). Its also pretty stupid that all 3 factions are pretty much shoveled down the same path, I was also expecting this to be like daoc where each faction has their own area's. Maybe some joined area's but not everyone (kinda like anarchy online, Omni is like on the other side of the planet)

Now some technical gripes.. Any plans to improve the loading times? I haven't played a game in years that has worse loading times than tsw has.

I like the gameplay somewhat in TSW, but yeah really worried about the game having no sustainability due to it being storybased like swtor was.

Out of interest.. if someone just focused on missions and gaining xp etc, how many 'hours' would it take them to reach this 'zero content'? I'm happily taking my time doing quests, getting lore and exploring but I'm curious..

I know there isn't heaps of content, but maybe try to pace yourself some more? Majority of MMOs don't launch with years worth of content already there.

    We have to trust Ragnar.

They have the base of a really good gaming going and like Ragnar said, their work doesn't stop, it intensifies and we have to trust him, or not, it is really up to you and how you feel.

Enjoy the game as long as you feel entertained by it. Don't force yourself to play it.

Mmorpg.com wasn't enough that you have to repost it again? didn't get satisfaction there?

Seriously, TSW has lot more to it than just stories but people already told you about it in details in that 10 pages long thread.

Uh...it might be just me, maybe I'm mistaken, but last time I looked SWTOR was still alive and well. I know a ton of people who play and play it myself. So how did it not last?

SWTOR lose about 3/5ths of its population.

SWTOR had enough players that losing that much didnt kill it.

Im scared of what losing that much of this game population could do to it. I trust Ragnar too though.

So I guess its wait and see.

It's just a game. Play it for a while and then play something else and then come back to it another time. I wouldn't worry about it though.

While I do understand your concern, I must say that even though I, myself, have gone through the story-line and is just doing elite dungeons + pvp, the game is actually one of the most atmostpheric games as of late. I absolutely LOVE the graphic and the modern settings. Also, the world is HUGE...there is ALWAYS something new to do - try take a look at your lore-window.. many of those lores actually comes with some kind of achievement (maybe some outfits?) - Just because people are done with the main-story doesn't mean that they should stop running around outthere, exploring this wonderful and beautiful (in its own way) world..
